The BoatData device is a small unit (85x60x40mm) primarily designed as an automatic log book and data capture device.
It is a completely dumb unit, with no buttons or screen, all setup is managed via the internet.
When turned on, it will log all the data available to it (at varying intervals depending on the speed of the boat) and store the data on the device’s internal storage. At the fastest possible logging speed, there is space for approximately 5 years of data!
The device should also be connected to Wi-Fi, either continually, or occasionally, (this can be easily achieved using a Wi-Fi hotspot on a smart phone) When a Wi-Fi connection becomes available, the data is automatically uploaded to the cloud for viewing online.
